What do we report on?

Bounce rate

We often use Google Analytics, this is in order to monitor our clients bounce rate. So, for those that don’t know, a high bounce rate means that a lot of people are visiting your website, yet then leaving more or less straightaway.

So why is this so?

Well, there could be many reasons, sometimes its due to something as simply as price of the product, or it could be more complicated, such as its difficult for the customer to specify the product they want, for example they want to purchase a pair of shoes, but the website doesn’t make it easy to choose a size 9 pair of shoes.

So, in a nutshell, often a website design business, and an seo company well they should work together that’s in order to work out why the bounce rate is so high, and how it could be reduced.

Organic visitors

Okay, so you run an online business, and let’s say you sell handmade furniture, like tables, chairs that sort of thing.

Well, sometimes, but this all depends, are the visitors that are coming to your website the type of customers who are going to purchase something?

So for example, a really good seo company may optimise your website for “farm house tables and chairs” – and you stock such an item, so obviously you want to attract visitors who are looking to purchase a farm house style table and chairs.

Yet, you then employ a different seo company, and they start to optimise the website for “cheap table and chairs”- well yes, you do stock table and chairs, but your prices are anything but cheap- so you see what we mean?

Your digital marketing agency has to be on the same page as your business, they have to understand the products or services that you can offer, but then make sure that they are attracting the right visitors.

As otherwise yes, the number of organic visitors may increase, but will these visitors actually buy anything from your business?

Number of backlinks

Okay, so we use a number of backlink tools, such as AHrefs, and Majestic, that’s to check which backlinks a website has, also how many backlinks a competitor has.

However, you have to remember this golden rule when it comes to building backlinks, that is quality matters. So, don’t just build backlinks to try and just gain more links, regardless of quality- that’s because quality must come first.
